The Science and Development Network published an article titled Climate change: Enough science, now for the politics. It makes the point that there is plenty of scientific evidence that proves that climate change is occurring. But people and politics must change their views if anything is to actually be done about it.

The idea that humans are changing the global climate system was first developed, elaborated and demonstrated by natural scientists. The scientific evidence backing this basic idea is now overwhelming, even if scientific predictions of future climate changes are still shrouded in uncertainty.

But although science is very good at revealing how things are, and suggesting what physical manifestations might follow a particular course of action, it has limited relevance and reach when deciding what should be done in the face of complex dilemmas — such as climate change.

He recently garnered attention from FastCompany, making their 2009 list of the 100 most creative people for the work he's done to transform the relationship between lower-income people and local food.

Now Mr. Allen has been featured by the New York Times:

“From the housing project, it’s more than three miles to the Pick’n Save. That’s a long way to go for groceries if you don’t have a car or can’t carry stuff. And the quality of the produce can be poor.” Fast-food joints and convenience stores selling highly processed, high-calorie foods, on the other hand, were locally abundant. “It’s a form of redlining,” Allen said. “We’ve got to change the system so everyone has safe, equitable access to healthy food.”

The Economist is reporting on the release of two reports, one in the United States and one in Britain, that give some detail on the grim affects that climate change have in these two countries. For details, visit The Economist:

Officials in America and Britain report on how a changing climate could batter their countries

IF YOU want to persuade voters to make difficult choices in order to tackle climate change, it helps to make clear precisely how their own homes might be affected by shifting weather patterns. Although climate change is widely expected to do most damage in poor countries, where large and vulnerable populations are most likely to be battered and displaced in the coming decades, rich ones will be affected too. This week two governments, in America and in Britain, set forth reports detailing what changes might be in store at home.

Couldn't help but notice that Fast Company has a slew of interesting articles going on right now.

For instance, check out this article on planes powered by algae. Or the U.S. as the greatest innovator.

This one on wireless electricity stands out the most:

But strap on your rubber boots; Tesla's dream has come true. After more than 100 years of dashed hopes, several companies are coming to market with technologies that can safely transmit power through the air -- a breakthrough that portends the literal and figurative untethering of our electronic age. Until this development, after all, the phrase "mobile electronics" has been a lie: How portable is your laptop if it has to feed every four hours, like an embryo, through a cord? How mobile is your phone if it shuts down after too long away from a plug? And how flexible is your business if your production area can't shift because you can't move the ceiling lights?
